Description

Mussel meat is a mollusk with a fine, nice taste and soft texture with high iron content and low fat (cholesterol). These shellfish are low in calories, consist almost entirely of proteins and include a minimum of carbohydrates. Mussels are part of the daily diet of many peoples of Southeast Asia. Mussels are used in salads, appetizers, main courses, soups and even baked goods. The best way to process mussels is by boiling, but fresh seafood is often eaten raw with a drizzle of lemon juice.
